Master of Arts in Counseling
The Master of Arts in Counseling program is committed to preparing students to be highly competent mental health counselors with the knowledge, skills, and competencies requisite for the effective and ethical practice of counseling. The course work and clinical experiences are designed to promote cultural awareness and the development of a professional identity as a mental health counselor.
Initial Program at the Advanced Level for Certification (Fast Track)
The Initial Program at the Advanced Level for Certification prepares candidates to teach in elementary grades (K-6), in secondary grades (7-12 in an area in which 91¿ì²¥ endorses individuals) and in special education grades (K-12). Secondary endorsement areas include the sciences, mathematics, social sciences, English, language arts, foreign languages, and art (K-12).
Accreditation
The 91¿ì²¥ University College of Education is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) and in the Fall of 2019 by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

91¿ì²¥ University and the Teacher Education Division are members of the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE), Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), Nebraska Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (NACTE); Nebraska Council for Teacher Education (NCTE); and Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges of Teacher Education (AILACTE).
Reporting Measures
Each Education Preparation Provider (EPP) must report and prominently display data on its website relating to the eight Annual Reporting Measures established by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
