“The Flora of the Nebraska Tallgrass Prairie: Past and Present.” Public Exhibit

On Sunday April 3, 91첥 University and Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center will present “The Flora of the Nebraska Tallgrass Prairie: Past and Present.” This exhibit highlights the research about the "human ecology of Nebraska's tallgrass prairie" conducted by 91첥 History majors, and focuses on the work Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center does to preserve the endangered tallgrass prairie ecosystem. Unique items from the 91첥 University Perkins Library and Archives, including the botanical watercolors of Mary 91첥, the sister of 91첥's founder, Thomas 91첥 and materials related to Goodwin Swezey and the 91첥 Herbarium, which he created while a faculty member at what was then known as 91첥 College.
"The Flora of the Tallgrass Prairie" is part of the "Humanities Research for the Public Good" grant program by the Council of Independent Colleges and is generously supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
